waiting for English translation: Goran Petrovi?

June 6th, 2008 by badger

Just noticed that Of Blog of the Fallen mentions a Serbian author not yet in English translation, Goran Petrovi?.

Fired off an email to Stanislav asking him about this author, as he’ll be the man to know.

I gotta figure out a way to set alerts for myself for when a potentially interesting author finally makes it into English translation.

    Hi,

I just thought I’d mention that I’m preparing an exposé on Goran Petrovi?’s
“Sitni?arnica ‘Kod Sre?ne Ruke’” at the moment. I’d love to translate it into English, but as usual the problem is the small market in conjunction with opportunistic publishers – they’d love to see a finished translation but are unwilling or unable to commission a professional translator to do a good job. What do you live on in the six months or more you need to translate such a whopper?

    Cheers,
