It kinda bums me out that the Opportunity Mars rover might get a one-way ticket into the Victoria Crater on Mars, with no chance of escape. A path for escape is being sought before the rover is sent in, but it will probably be sent into the crater regardless. They just want to understand the decision that they are making. The crater provides the ability to look at a longer geologic record of Mars, which seems to be worth the sacrifice.
