Exuma “Metstophaliese” This is it! The one that i was looking for! It was on the album Reincarnation. It’s a pastoral little occult folk tune until it gets to the incantation in the middle, and it’s so wonderfully and absurdly over-the-top! Come! Cut me and i bleed like you, Metstophaliese! Chew on that, Gothworld.
Exuma “Monkberry Moon Delight” Think about “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” and there’s a certain karmic perversity in it all. Imagine hearing this in the supermarket instead of Joe Cocker doing his rawlunged Beatles covers. There’s points in the song that it feels that Exuma could stab his listeners in frustrated rage.
The person that i got the first Exuma albums (which are much better really) actually tracked me down to let me know he had this stuff. Thank you again if you ever run across this.

You know, when I was interviewing Ian Lloyd of Stories, he told me their “Brother Louie” song was recorded for Exuma. They were label mates & the label wanted Stories to be his back up band. Exuma thought the song sucked, so they released Ian singing it. Then when it was a big hit, Exuma went ape shit, claiming that was supposed to be his song.
Honestly, i don’t care for “Brother Louie” but if Exuma did it….
