I just finished Verissimo’s Borges & the Eternal Orangutans. It’s quite a fun little book, if not exactly the most perplexing mystery. I enjoyed the games, but was surprised my suspicions from the beginning were right. It was the games, and not the desination obviously, or i’d read actual detective stories, not odd literary homages. It definitely worked out a lot better than Chabon’s well-intentioned The Final Solution, as Borges is much richer to mine for his allusions to older traditions than Doyle’s old hero.
