		<description><![CDATA[Just finished Bartleby &amp; Co.  You might have already written this, but it&#039;s an amazing starting-point to search for a lot of authors, in addition to being a masterpiece on its own merits.  I&#039;d love to sit next to Vila-Matas at a dinner; and just listen.

I&#039;m a BritLit guy, so I&#039;m a little more predisposed to the (Man) Bookers.  Last year&#039;s winner, The Gathering/Anne Enright, is a very sturdy horror story, and the Nicola Barker/Darkmans was funny.  The Booker will mix quality up with quirky; there&#039;s a reasonable history of obscurity in their winners.  I dunno, did anything good come out of Great Britain last year??]]></description>
